About The Position

BrightStar Care is seeking early-shift caregivers to provide one-on-one care to clients in their homes. The position assists clients with personal care and daily activities, including transferring, light housekeeping, meal preparation, and companionship. Shifts are available starting between 6:00 and 7:00 a.m., with shift lengths ranging from 1 to 12 hours. One-hour shifts pay $30 per hour, two-hour shifts pay $22.50 per hour, and shifts of three hours or longer pay a base rate of $19–$22 per hour, depending on experience. The role is part of a care coordination team and communicates with the RN Case Manager about updates to clients’ plans of care.

Requirements

Have a compassionate, patient, and caring nature.
Have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Have hands-on caregiving experience in a setting such as home health, assisted living, a group home, or a hospital.
Have a reliable vehicle, a valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.
Provide a negative TB test or cleared chest X-ray.
Be available to work two weekend days per month.

Responsibilities

Provide companionship and conversation to clients.
Assist with meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands, and other daily activities.
Provide physical assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring, and ambulation.
Accompany clients to appointments or social outings and provide transportation as needed.
Monitor and report changes in clients’ health, behavior, and needs.
Communicate with the RN Case Manager as part of the care coordination team to update the plan of care.
