About The Position
Wegmans cashiers help customers end their shopping trips with a positive experience. The role provides proactive customer service in traditional checkout and self-checkout lanes, creating a lasting impression and encouraging customer loyalty. Shifts start as early as 6 a.m.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
Responsibilities
- Engage customers in friendly conversation, make eye contact and smile, proactively offer assistance, and thank customers for shopping at Wegmans.
- Efficiently and accurately scan items and process payments at the register.
- Bag items carefully so products arrive at their destination in the condition they left the store.
- In the self-checkout area, manage traffic flow, direct customers to available lanes, ensure lanes are in good working order, and help customers troubleshoot system issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workspace.
