About The Position

The Club Management Rotational Internship at Medinah Country Club is designed to provide aspiring hospitality and club management professionals with an in-depth understanding of operating a premier private club. Interns will rotate through various departments, collaborate with leaders, interact with staff and members, and gain practical experience in diverse club operations. The program emphasizes critical thinking and leadership, aiming to prepare interns for future leadership roles within the organization.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a degree in Hospitality Management, Club Management, Business, Food & Beverage Management, Recreation, or a related field.
Desire to work with all types of people and personalities.
Genuine curiosity and a desire to learn beyond the classroom.
Professionalism and good judgment.
A positive, service-oriented attitude.

Willingness to receive feedback.
Ability to work collaboratively with different personalities and departments.
Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.

Responsibilities

Rotate through key departments to understand their purpose, responsibilities, staffing, challenges, and contribution to the overall member experience.
Spend time with department heads and Club leaders to understand decision-making processes, team management, and departmental collaboration.
Participate in day-to-day operations, projects, meetings, events, and member service as appropriate.
Maintain a weekly journal documenting learnings, observations, questions, and identified opportunities or challenges.
Identify operational challenges or opportunities and develop a final consultant-style project with thoughtful recommendations.
Complete a two-day advanced rotation in an area of particular interest to gain deeper exposure.
