About The Position

Insperity is seeking an AI Intern to complete projects and assignments with diverse teams across multiple rotations. The intern will help design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain AI-focused solutions that apply emerging concepts to real-world business challenges. The role involves participating in problem framing and system design and translating business requirements into effective AI solutions, with guidance from senior staff.

The intern will contribute to AI model and workflow development, technical documentation, model evaluation and testing, troubleshooting, and implementation support. They will collaborate with IT and AI teams, learn about responsible and emerging AI practices, participate in training and networking opportunities, and provide feedback to improve the internship program.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Actively pursuing or have obtained a bachelor's degree in AI or a related field.
• Understanding of core AI and data concepts, including machine learning fundamentals, data structures and pipelines for structured and unstructured data, neural networks and deep learning basics, natural language processing and computer vision principles, and cloud and API integration for deploying AI models.
• Understanding of ethical AI use, bias mitigation, and compliance standards.
• Some proficiency with common AI and data science languages such as Python, R, and SQL, with exposure to scripting for automation and data manipulation.
• Ability to adapt and learn quickly and work effectively in ambiguous situations.
• Strong analytical thinking, sound judgment, and problem-solving skills.
• Professionalism and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
• Effective time management, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
• Strong collaboration skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including basic presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete AI-focused assignments using current AI concepts and tools, following procedures, meeting deadlines, and collaborating across functions to support business initiatives.
• Communicate progress, insights, risks, and improvement opportunities to project teams and leaders.
• Pursue self-development by sharing AI knowledge, seeking and incorporating feedback, adapting to change, and contributing to rotation-specific objectives.
• Assist with AI solution problem framing and system design, including defining required interfaces, methods, and parameters.
• Help develop and refine AI models and workflows using machine learning, data analysis, and programming techniques such as Python or R, under senior staff guidance.
• Contribute to the creation and review of technical documentation, including semantic layers, knowledge graphs, and ontologies.
• Participate in model evaluation, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Troubleshoot non-complex issues involving algorithms, data pipelines, and API integrations.
• Collaborate with IT and AI teams to follow architectural standards, design patterns, and ethical AI practices, including bias mitigation and compliance.
• Apply knowledge of emerging AI trends, including Visual AI, Rules Engines, Recommender Systems, and Responsible AI, to develop insight into industry best practices.
• Build organizational and technical familiarity by engaging with AI publications, attending training events, and exploring generative AI tools.
• Assist with implementation and post-implementation support for AI-driven business solutions, including model and application configuration and enhancement.
• Participate in networking and learning events with interns and associates in AI and related functions.
• Provide feedback to support continuous improvement of the AI internship program.
