About The Position

Insperity is seeking an AI Intern to complete projects and assignments with diverse teams, designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining AI-focused solutions. Rotations apply current AI concepts to real-world business challenges and involve problem framing and system design, translating business requirements into effective AI solutions. The intern works under guidance from senior staff and collaborates with AI, IT, project teams, and business leaders. The role also includes learning and networking activities and providing feedback to improve the internship program.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Actively pursuing or have obtained a bachelor’s degree in AI or a related field.
Understanding of core AI and data concepts, including machine learning fundamentals, data structures and pipelines for structured and unstructured data, neural networks and deep learning basics, NLP and computer vision principles, and cloud and API integration for deploying AI models.
Understanding of ethical AI use, bias mitigation, and compliance standards.
Some proficiency with common AI and data science languages such as Python, R, or SQL, with exposure to scripting for automation and data manipulation.
Ability to adapt and learn quickly and work effectively in ambiguous situations.
Strong analytical thinking, sound judgment, and problem-solving skills.
Professionalism and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
Effective time management, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
Strong collaboration skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including basic presentation skills.
Initiative, intellectual curiosity, and motivation to deliver results.
Proficiency with computer applications and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

GPA of 3.25 or higher.
Exposure to model optimization, performance tuning, and scalable deployment strategies.

Responsibilities

Complete AI-focused assignments using current AI concepts and tools, following procedures, meeting deadlines, and collaborating across functions to support business initiatives.
Communicate progress, insights, risks, and improvement opportunities to project teams and leaders.
Share AI knowledge, seek and incorporate feedback, adapt to change, and contribute to rotation-specific objectives.
Assist with problem framing, system design, and defining required interfaces, methods, and parameters for AI solutions.
Help develop and refine AI models and workflows using machine learning, data analysis, and programming techniques such as Python or R, under senior staff guidance.
Contribute to creating and reviewing technical documentation, including semantic layers, knowledge graphs, and ontologies.
Participate in model evaluation, integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
Troubleshoot non-complex issues involving algorithms, data pipelines, and API integrations.
Collaborate with IT and AI teams to follow architectural standards, design patterns, and ethical AI practices, including bias mitigation and compliance.
Apply knowledge of emerging AI trends, such as Visual AI, Rules Engines, Recommender Systems, and Responsible AI, to develop insight into industry best practices.
Build organizational and technical familiarity through AI publications, training events, and exploration of generative AI tools.
Assist with implementation and post-implementation support for AI-driven business solutions, including configuration and enhancement of models and applications.
Participate in networking and learning events with interns and associates in AI and related functions.
Provide feedback to support continuous improvement of the AI internship program.
