About The Position

Insperity is seeking Technology Interns to rotate among teams within Innovative Technology Solutions. Interns learn and contribute to designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and improving software. They apply tools and technologies to help translate business requirements and functional specifications into hardware and software solutions, assist with implementation and maintenance, and support systems integration testing and user acceptance testing. The role provides experience with the software development life cycle in an agile team environment, supported by development training and an assigned mentor.

Requirements

• Actively pursuing or have obtained a bachelor’s degree in IT, MIS, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Some level of programming skills in languages or technologies such as Java, C#, SQL, Perl, or XML.

Nice To Haves

• GPA of 3.25 or higher.
• Exposure to concepts such as object-oriented programming, data structures, software engineering techniques, quality assurance, parallel programming, databases, or networking.

Responsibilities

• Learn the software development life cycle and technologies used to fulfill application development, support, and maintenance requests by participating in an agile team environment.
• Participate in software development training assigned by a development mentor.
• Work with the development team and assigned mentor to learn scope definition, work effort estimation, business requirements gathering, technical documentation, and unit testing approaches and standards.
• Learn design standards from the solution design team and follow those standards when performing assigned work.
• Complete application code assignments from a mentor to learn technologies and system functionality.
• Assist with translating business requirements and functional specifications into hardware and software solutions, and with implementing and maintaining those solutions.
• Support systems integration testing and user acceptance testing.
