About The Position

Insperity is seeking Technology Interns to rotate among teams in Innovative Technology Solutions. Interns learn and contribute to software design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and improvement. They apply tools and technologies to help translate business requirements and functional specifications into hardware and software solutions, assist with implementing and maintaining those solutions, and support systems integration testing and user acceptance testing. The role provides exposure to the software development life cycle and an agile team environment, with training and guidance from a development mentor.

Requirements

Actively pursuing or have obtained a bachelor's degree in IT, MIS, Computer Science, or a related field.
Some level of programming skills in languages or technologies such as Java, C#, SQL, Perl, or XML.
Exposure to concepts such as object-oriented programming, data structures, software engineering techniques, quality assurance, parallel programming, databases, or networking.
Ability to adapt to change and learn new skills quickly.
Flexibility and ability to work with ambiguity.
Professionalism and executive presence.
Strategic and analytical thinking, sound judgment, and willingness to resolve issues and problems in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

Learn the software development life cycle and technologies used for application development, support, and maintenance by participating in an agile team environment.
Participate in software development training assigned by a development mentor.
Work with the development team and mentor to learn scope definition, work-effort estimation, business requirements gathering, technical documentation, and unit-testing approaches and standards.
Learn and follow design standards when completing assigned work with the solution design team.
Complete application code assignments from a mentor to learn technologies and system functionality.
Assist with designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and improving software.
Assist in translating business requirements and functional specifications into hardware and software solutions, implementing and maintaining solutions, and supporting systems integration and user acceptance testing.
