About the position
The job overview for the Senior Cloud Data Architect role is that it offers the opportunity to apply hands-on experience and skills in a consultative manner to address customers' strategic and tactical needs around cloud technologies. The role also provides the chance to grow technical and interpersonal skills by addressing customer challenges and engaging in learning new technologies. Additionally, the position allows for thought leadership activities such as blogging, public speaking, and participation in technology events to strengthen personal brand.
Responsibilities
- Apply hands-on experience and skills in a consultative manner to address customers' strategic and tactical needs around cloud technologies
- Grow technical and interpersonal skills by addressing customer challenges and learning new technologies
- Strengthen personal brand through thought leadership activities such as blogging, public speaking, and participation in technology events
- Architect, develop, and troubleshoot large production-grade distributed systems on AWS
- Select appropriate tools to tackle business problems at the correct scale
- Work with cloud data storage, data warehousing, and data lake architecture
- Work with ELT/ETL and reporting/analytics frameworks and technologies such as Redshift, Athena, Glue, and EMR
- Design highly-available systems for serving transactional web-scale low-latency traffic using RDBMS and NoSQL technologies
- Have a programming background with shell scripts and one or more of the following: JavaScript, Java, Python, GO, or Rust
- Familiarity with debugging, refactoring, and optimizing code
- Experience in automating tasks
- Build data pipelines
Requirements
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Expertise in architecting, developing, and troubleshooting large production-grade distributed systems on AWS.
- Experience working with cloud data storage, data warehousing, and/or data lake architecture.
- Familiarity with ELT/ETL and reporting/analytics frameworks and technologies such as Redshift, Athena, Glue, and EMR.
- Experience with designing highly-available systems for serving transactional web-scale low-latency traffic using RDBMS and NoSQL technologies.
- Programming background with shell scripts and one or more of the following: JavaScript, Java, Python, GO, or Rust.
- Familiarity with debugging, refactoring, and optimizing code.
- Experience in automating tasks.
- Ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder.
