The Closing Driver is a delivery role with a higher pay rate and additional end-of-day in-store duties, including helping with dishes and cleaning the store. To qualify for the higher rate, the employee must close at least three nights per week, though they may work as a late driver on other shifts. The role is suited to people who can multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment while helping the store deliver orders as quickly and safely as possible. Applicants should be motivated, competitive, personable, and service-oriented. The company offers flexible scheduling, with daytime and evening shifts and schedules ranging from one to five or six shifts per week. Team members operate store equipment; stock ingredients; prepare products; take and process telephone orders; complete required paperwork; clean and maintain equipment and the facility; and deliver products using a personal vehicle. On-the-job orientation and training are provided, focusing on order-taking, labeling boxes, safe delivery, and avoiding road hazards and distractions. The position requires communication and basic math skills, accurate order entry, and the ability to navigate to delivery locations. The work involves exposure to changing indoor and outdoor temperatures, adverse weather, food odors, cornmeal dust, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Physical activities include standing, walking or running short distances, sitting for paperwork, lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds, pushing trays on dollies, occasional stair or ladder use, bending, crouching, reaching, and continuous hand use.
