About The Position

Southcoast Health is seeking a Clinical Technician to provide direct patient care and clerical support in the Emergency Department at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, Massachusetts. The position is 32 hours per week on the night shift, 11:15 p.m. to 7:15 a.m., with every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday rotation. The Clinical Technician works under the general supervision of the Emergency Department Manager or designee. Pay is based on experience, with a stated range of $22.16 to $28.85 per hour. A $1,200 new-hire sign-on bonus is offered; eligible rehires must have been terminated for more than one year.

Requirements

• Education equivalent to completion of four years of high school, plus specialized courses and training.
• One year of related work experience.
• CPR certification.
• Certification as a Certified Nurse Aide, Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic; alternatively, current enrollment in an accredited nursing program with successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing, or at least one year of Emergency Department Technician experience.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19, or qualify for and sign a statement electing exemption for medical or personal reasons once hired.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including phlebotomy, EKGs, minor invasive procedures, and diagnostic procedures, in accordance with physicians’ orders.
• Conduct patient interviews.
• Provide clerical support, including quick patient registration, data and order entry, minor transcription of orders, collation of medical records, and other assigned clerical duties.
