About The Position

This is an existing full-time position for a Clinical Scheduler. The role involves scheduling and facilitating clinical consults, maintaining accurate records, and participating in various meetings. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills, proficiency in computer programs, and knowledge of Aboriginal culture and values, particularly as they relate to First Nations communities in the Sioux Lookout district. The Clinical Scheduler will also assist with data collection and reconciliation, and maintain communication links with communities for telemedicine activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment and complete work on schedule
  • Proficiency in computer programs such as M/S Word, Excel, and the use of email
  • Ability to learn communications technology and systems software quickly
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, and of the geographical and health care challenges of First Nations in the Sioux Lookout district
  • Dedication to service excellence

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably post-secondary education
  • First Nations community-based experience is preferred
  • Administrative experience in a health or social service field is an asset
  • Experience working with diverse partners
  • Familiarity with health system in the district

Responsibilities

  • Schedules and facilitates clinical consults
  • Keeps accurate records of clinical consultants
  • Participates in scheduling team meetings
  • Demonstrates commitment to staff team by participating in staff meetings and regional clinical meetings
  • Maintains good communication links with the communities to facilitate effective telemedicine activities
  • Participates in training and updating activities as required
  • Undertakes special projects and research as required
  • Assist with data collection and reconciliation in regards to activity logs. S/he will provide a clerical role to KO e-Health services
  • Collects and monitors incoming data and investigates missing data through communication with staff located in remote First Nations
