About The Position

Johnson & Johnson MedTech Orthopaedics is seeking a Clinical Sales Specialist to support clients in an assigned territory. The role advances sales of DePuy Synthes orthopedic surgical products by providing clinical and logistical expertise in hospitals and operating rooms. Working under close management supervision and in close partnership with Sales Consultants, the specialist may independently cover surgical cases and manage billing and purchase orders, logistics, and equipment assets.

DePuy Synthes Spine provides spinal care solutions for simple to complex spine disorders, using traditional and minimally invasive techniques. The Clinical Sales Specialist provides direct customer support, attends surgeries, ensures equipment is available and functioning, and helps ensure services and offerings meet high quality standards. The position requires the ability to work in a laboratory and operating room environment, travel (which may include weekends and overnight stays), and reside in or relocate to the assigned territory.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or medical certification (such as CST or PT) plus at least 2 years of professional and/or relevant experience; alternatively, at least 4 years of professional and/or relevant experience; or recent transition from Active Military Duty.
• Ability to work in a laboratory and operating room environment.
• Valid driver’s license issued in the United States.
• Ability to travel, including possible weekend and overnight travel.
• Residence in or willingness to relocate to the assigned territory.
• Strong interpersonal communication, negotiation, influencing, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and business acumen skills.
• Experience in data analysis and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Results orientation and sense of urgency, with the ability to meet tight timelines.

Responsibilities

• Independently guide and assist surgeons in the operating room by providing clinical and technical support during orthopedic surgical cases.
• Advance DePuy Synthes sales by serving as the sole Company representative providing direct customer support, attending surgeries, and ensuring proper equipment is available and functioning.
• Troubleshoot and use independent judgment to respond to physician needs and customer requests.
• Manage hospital billing and create and close purchase orders.
• Share customer, procedural, and marketplace insights with sales, clinical, marketing, and strategic account teams to improve solutions and service levels and support sales growth.
• Prepare required sales reports and documents.
• Provide consultation to operating rooms and Sterile Processing Departments.
• Maintain, track, and effectively deploy equipment and assets throughout the assigned area to ensure product availability.
• Keep promotional materials presentable.
• Ensure DePuy Synthes services and offerings meet high quality standards.
• Provide logistical support by moving instruments, implants, and equipment between sales representatives and hospitals.
