About The Position

Clinical Outreach Liaison- IOP Mental Health We are seeking a Clinical Outreach Liaison to support access to care for our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Thousand Branches Wellness in Arden Hills, MN through clinically informed community outreach and referral engagement. This role is responsible for the execution of outreach activities with a strong clinical lens, ensuring referral partners are supported in identifying appropriate level-of-care placements. Working within established outreach priorities, the Liaison will serve as a clinical resource in the community, helping bridge gaps between providers and treatment services. This is a field-based, externally focused role and does not include responsibility for internal program operations, staffing, or clinical service delivery. About Thousand Branches Wellness: Thousand Branches Wellness will provide outpatient mental health services including Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Medication Management, and Individual Therapy. A subsidiary of Universal Health Services (UHS), one of the largest and most respected providers of hospital and behavioral healthcare services, Thousand Branches Wellness is seeking an experienced Marketing Manager to support the program and complete community outreach to gain referrals. This role offers a unique opportunity to step outside of traditional clinical settings and make a broader impact by helping individuals access the right level of care at the right time, while building meaningful relationships across the behavioral health community.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a behavioral health field required
  • Active licensure or registration strongly preferred
  • 1–3+ years of experience in behavioral health (clinical, case management, or utilization review experience preferred)
  • Strong understanding of behavioral health diagnoses and levels of care (IOP/PHP/residential)
  • Ability to communicate clinical concepts clearly to both clinical and non-clinical audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust within the provider community
  • Ability to work independently in a structured, field-based role
  • A clinically trained professional who enjoys community engagement and relationship building
  • Strong ability to translate clinical knowledge into practical guidance for referral partners
  • Consistent, reliable execution of outreach activities
  • High level of organization and follow-through
  • Comfort working within established outreach direction and priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in mental health and/or substance use treatment settings
  • Background in assessment, case management, or care coordination
  • Familiarity working with military populations, veterans, or veteran-serving organizations
  • Established relationships within the behavioral health community
  • Experience with CRM or referral tracking systems

Responsibilities

  • Execute assigned outreach plans with a focus on clinically appropriate referral development
  • Build and maintain relationships with referral partners, including therapists, psychiatrists, hospitals, and community providers
  • Serve as a clinical resource to the community by educating partners on levels of care, treatment modalities, and appropriate placement criteria
  • Utilize clinical knowledge to support referral partners in determining when IOP is an appropriate level of care
  • Conduct regular in-person outreach, meetings, and follow-ups to maintain strong community presence
  • Collaborate with Admissions and clinical teams to support appropriate and timely referral transitions
  • Communicate relevant clinical updates and program information to referral sources
  • Track outreach activity and referral trends to support consistency and follow-through
  • Maintain consistent weekly outreach activity in the field
  • Support growth in clinically appropriate referrals and admissions
  • Build and sustain relationships with community providers
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of outreach efforts
