This position supports ChildLine operations by reviewing clearance applications, assisting callers, and helping ensure the safety of children across the Commonwealth. Requirements

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Answer inquiries and guide callers through clearance verification steps
  • Examine and compare applicant information across multiple databases
  • Enter, update, and confirm clearance data in official systems
  • Review criminal histories and assess whether offenses meet legal criteria
  • Prepare clear responses to applicant questions and requests
  • Open, sort, and process incoming applications and related fees
