About The Position

As a Clerical Assistant 2 with the Bureau of Blindness and Visual Services, Philadelphia District Office, you will support daily office operations that help the district serve participants and staff. This role lets you build your clerical and organizational skills while contributing to important services. You will play a key part in keeping information flowing and tasks on track. This position offers a positive environment where your efforts support both coworkers and the community. This role supports the Philadelphia District Office by completing clerical tasks that help staff carry out their work. It involves preparing documents, maintaining records, assisting with mail processing, and supporting staff needs.

Requirements

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • Graduation from high school
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Meet the PA residency requirement
  • Be able to perform essential job functions

Responsibilities

  • Prepare forms, letters, memos, reports, and other materials from handwritten or dictated sources
  • Maintain filing systems and keep case records organized and up to date
  • Sort, stamp, assign, and route incoming and outgoing mail within set time frames
  • Assist staff with travel documents, accommodations, and completion of required worksheets
  • Enter and update participant information in CWDS and generate needed correspondence
  • Answer calls and route them to the appropriate staff member
