The Clerical Assistant 2 position with the Department of Corrections, Division of Parole in the Williamsport District Office offers an opportunity to contribute to meaningful public service. Requirements

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Graduation from high school; o r An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Must possess keyboarding skills to meet standards for speed and accuracy.
  • Must understand how to efficiently use and navigate a personal computer.
  • Skilled using Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
  • Previous experience with electronic communication tools/skills, such as video conferencing, and creating meetings in Microsoft Teams.
  • Previous experience combining and manipulating documents in Adobe Pro
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Input, update, and modify parolee case information in various computer systems
  • Collect information and prepare reports, logs, and forms as requested by the Director
  • Review incoming documents and compose correspondence and memoranda based on instructions or notes
  • Take minutes at staff and committee meetings and prepare them for distribution
  • Maintain files, order supplies, and assist with timekeeping and leave record tasks
  • Respond to questions from staff, parole agents, and the public using knowledge of office operations
