About The Position

Become a key part of the Energy Programs Office as an Clerical Assistant 2. This position gives you a front row seat to meaningful statewide programs that make a real impact. DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position supports the daily operations of energy programs by handling clerical tasks, tracking information, and assisting administrative staff. The role requires strong organization and attention to detail, along with the ability to work independently.

Requirements

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Graduation from high school; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • You must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with clerical tasks for grants, contracts, Memoranda of Understanding, and invoices for multiple energy programs
  • Gather and review program reports and keep staff informed about report status
  • Use Business Warehouse to run reports and help prepare accurate financial summaries
  • Maintain records for federal grant programs and recommend filing methods that support audits
  • Prepare travel requests, process reimbursements, and maintain tracking systems for travel approvals
  • Support program specialists with federal grant requirements and perform back up duties for administrative staff
