About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs custodial duties for C&W Services according to established standards, instructions, and procedures. Duties include cleaning floors, rugs, furniture, fixtures, glass, walls, and bathrooms; replenishing bathroom supplies; collecting and disposing of trash; and sweeping or shoveling snow from designated entrances and walkways. The Cleaner also monitors and reports possible defects and performs periodic high dusting, polishing, and surface and wall washing.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Ability to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other interior surfaces.
• Operate commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean them daily and shampoo them when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, and wash or spot-clean interior walls as appropriate.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily, including cleaning surfaces and floors and servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers.
• Monitor for possible defects, such as clogged urinals or lights that are out, and report them to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to designated collection areas.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways or sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
