Cleaner- 1st Shift
About The Position
The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with the company’s established standards, instructions, and procedures. Duties include cleaning floors, rugs, furniture, windows, walls, bathrooms, and other interior surfaces; collecting and disposing of trash; restocking bathroom supplies; and reporting defects to supervisors. The role may also involve clearing snow from building entrances and walkways as directed, along with periodic high dusting, polishing, and wall washing.
Requirements
- No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
- Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
- Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
- Ability to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
- Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.
Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other interior surfaces.
- Operate commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
- Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot clean daily and shampoo rugs when directed.
- Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
- Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
- Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, both interior and exterior, and spot clean interior walls as appropriate.
- Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily, including cleaning surfaces and floors and servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers.
- Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and lights that are out, and report them to supervisors.
- Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to the designated collection area.
- Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers according to specifications.
- Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways or sidewalks as directed.
- Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
