About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. The role includes routine cleaning and upkeep of building interiors and entrances, bathroom cleaning and supply restocking, trash collection, and periodic specialized cleaning. The Cleaner may also perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and cooperate as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Ability to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other indoor surfaces.
• Use commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including their attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean rugs daily and shampoo them when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, horizontal surfaces, and other items; perform periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, both interior and exterior.
• Wash or spot-clean interior walls as appropriate each day.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily, including cleaning surfaces and fixtures, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers, and sweeping, mopping, or scrubbing floors.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals or lights that are out and report them to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to designated collection areas; replace waste-basket and trash-container liners according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps, entrances, connecting walkways, and sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
