About The Position

The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the facility to support a positive member experience. The role involves cleaning and sanitizing locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the gym floor; restocking locker-room paper products; reporting broken amenities or equipment to the Club Manager, Manager in Training, or Team Lead; and promptly turning in lost member property according to Baseline Fitness’s lost and found policy. The position also requires customer-service-oriented communication, active listening and empathy, practical problem solving, and tactful interactions with customers, coworkers, and the public.

Requirements

Honesty and a good work ethic.
Must be able to lift over 100 pounds for less than 20% of the shift.
Standing and walking for at least 75% of the shift.
Reaching and feeling with hands, fingers, or arms for at least 75% of the shift.
Climbing, balancing, kneeling, and crouching for less than 20% of the shift.
Talking with members or staff for less than 30% of the shift.
May encounter toxic chemicals for less than 30% of the shift.

Responsibilities

Thoroughly clean and sanitize locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the gym floor.
Stock locker rooms with appropriate paper products.
Report broken amenities or equipment, including toilets, showers, hair dryers, and gym equipment, to the Club Manager, Manager in Training, or Team Lead.
Immediately turn in lost member property according to Baseline Fitness’s lost and found policy.
Communicate and interact with customers, coworkers, and the public in a way that exceeds their wants and needs.
Listen actively, empathize with customers, and work together to solve problems.
Recognize and define problems, analyze relevant information, consider alternative solutions, and seek assistance when needed.
Demonstrate tact and skill in interactions using appropriate behavior and language.
