About The Position

The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the facility to ensure a positive member experience. Duties include cleaning and sanitizing locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the gym floor; restocking locker-room paper products; reporting broken amenities or equipment; and promptly turning in lost member property according to the company’s lost-and-found policy. The position requires customer-service, listening, problem-solving, and diplomacy skills, along with honesty and a good work ethic.

Requirements

Honesty and a good work ethic.
Ability to stand and walk for at least 75% of the shift.
Ability to reach and feel with hands, fingers, and arms for at least 75% of the shift.
Ability to climb, balance, kneel, and crouch for less than 20% of the shift.
Ability to talk with members and staff for less than 30% of the shift.
Ability to lift over 100 pounds for less than 20% of the shift.
May encounter toxic chemicals for less than 30% of the shift.

Responsibilities

Thoroughly clean and sanitize locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the gym floor.
Stock the locker room with appropriate paper products.
Report broken amenities or equipment to the Club Manager, Manager in Training, or Team Lead.
Immediately turn lost member property in to the Club Manager, Manager in Training, or Team Lead, following the lost-and-found policy.
Communicate and interact with customers, coworkers, and the public in a way that exceeds their wants and needs.
Listen actively, empathize with customers, and work together to solve problems.
Recognize and define problems, analyze relevant information, consider alternative solutions, and seek additional assistance when needed.
Demonstrate tact and appropriate behavior and language in interactions.
