About The Position

This entry-level position supports the Auto Claims Operation by handling material damage, property damage, and/or liability claims written by the Interinsurance Exchange. The role provides service pursuant to policy terms and complies with regulatory and statutory requirements. Its primary functions include investigating liability, evaluating coverage, and resolving and negotiating lower-complexity claims using established company technical and customer-service practices. Under moderate supervision and within specific limits and authority, the adjuster resolves claims using well-defined procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and general computer software.
• Organization and planning skills.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Property and Casualty Insurance License valid in the selling state, issued by the state.
• May be required to obtain an adjuster license, as applicable under state law, within 60 days.

Nice To Haves

• No prior claims experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and interact with insureds, claimants, and other individuals.
• Verify and explain benefits, coverages, fault, and the claims process verbally or in writing in compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
• Investigate liability and damages, distinguishing allegations from facts.
• Identify and obtain statements from insureds, claimants, and witnesses.
• Evaluate and negotiate within settlement authority to resolve first- and third-party claims in multiple markets.
• Use proficiency in estimate review, material damage, liability, claims analysis, claims technology, and related tools.
• Coordinate with internal and external departments as required.
• Respond promptly to customer needs and inquiries.
