About the position
Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Construction General Contractor Manager with 5+ years of technical structural engineering experience. The role involves overseeing new construction activities, focusing on safety, quality, schedule, and cost. Responsibilities include monitoring field installations, reviewing site drawings and specifications, identifying and resolving design and construction issues, and managing project-related issues. The ideal candidate should have experience in heavy industrial structures or manifesting structures.
Responsibilities
- Manage Construction General Contractor activities related to new construction
- Monitor field installations for large engineering design and construction projects while focusing on safety, quality, schedule, and cost
- Review site drawing packages and site specifications
- Perform regular site field observations for quality and drawing/specification compliance checks
- Identify potential design and construction issues and drive the resolution of the issues to closure
- Monitor schedule, cost, and quality for contractor and subcontractor work
- Identify, track, manage, resolve, and communicate project issues during all phases of project-related work
- Assist in construction support activities including response to Requests for information (RFIs), Submittal reviews for conformance to engineering drawings, site standards, and specifications
Requirements
- 5+ years of technical structural engineering experience
- Focus on heavy industrial structures or manifesting structures strongly preferred
- Ability to monitor field installations for large engineering design and construction projects
- Strong focus on safety, quality, schedule, and cost
- Reviewing site drawing packages and site specifications
- Performing regular site field observations for quality and drawing/specification compliance checks
- Identifying potential design and construction issues and driving resolution
- Monitoring schedule, cost, and quality for contractor and subcontractor work
- Ability to identify, track, manage, resolve, and communicate project issues
- Assist in construction support activities including response to Requests for Information (RFIs) and submittal reviews
