About The Position

R+L Carriers is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented City Dispatcher to work in its Huntsville, Alabama Service Center office. The role coordinates dock operations and scheduling for drivers and freight handlers, ensures safety and freight-handling standards are followed, and dispatches less-than-truckload (LTL) loads in a timely manner. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with various shifts. The listed salary range is $70,000 to $75,000.

Requirements

• Proven basic leadership experience.
• Ability to lead in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational, communication, and logistical skills, with solid problem-solving abilities.
• Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Knowledge of the city and surrounding areas.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of quality freight handling.
• Prior LTL leadership experience, which is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage drivers and freight handlers.
• Coordinate dock operations and driver/freight-handler scheduling.
• Ensure safety compliance.
• Ensure quality freight-handling procedures are followed.
• Dispatch LTL loads in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Service Center Manager.
