About The Position

R+L Carriers is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented City Dispatcher for its Service Center office in Huntsville, Alabama. The role involves coordinating dock operations and driver and freight handler schedules, managing drivers and freight handlers, ensuring safety and quality freight-handling procedures, and dispatching less-than-truckload (LTL) loads on time. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with various shifts. Other duties may be assigned by the Service Center Manager.

Requirements

• Proven basic leadership experience.
• Ability to lead in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational, communication, and logistical skills.
• Solid problem-solving abilities.
• Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Knowledge of the city and surrounding areas.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of quality freight handling.
• Prior LTL leadership experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage drivers and freight handlers.
• Coordinate dock operations and driver and freight handler scheduling.
• Ensure safety compliance.
• Ensure quality freight-handling procedures are followed.
• Dispatch LTL loads in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Service Center Manager.
