About The Position

Fogo de Chão is hiring a Gaucho Chef to prepare and cook special cuts of beef and other meats using traditional Brazilian churrasco recipes. The role includes seasoning and grilling food according to traditional methods and guests’ requests, then portioning, garnishing, and presenting it in the style of a Brazilian gaucho. The Gaucho Chef answers guest questions about churrasco-style food and represents Brazilian gaucho culture and demeanor. The position also involves maintaining a clean grill area and completing beginning- or closing-shift duties. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Must be able to transport objects up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work at a quick pace.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook special cuts of beef and other meats according to traditional Brazilian churrasco recipes.
• Season and grill food using prescribed traditional methods and in response to guests’ specific requests.
• Portion, garnish, and present food in the style of a Brazilian gaucho.
• Answer guests’ questions about churrasco-style food and represent Brazilian gaucho culture and demeanor.
• Maintain cleanliness of the grill area.
• Complete beginning- or closing-shift duties.
