About The Position

Caterpillar is hiring a Chrome Plater to perform plating operations and related equipment, chemistry, and quality-control tasks. The role involves handling piece parts, maintaining plating tank chemistry and operating conditions, checking equipment, and recording readings in accordance with EPA directives. The employee also uses precision measuring equipment and blueprints to ensure product quality, and performs maintenance on the conveyor and its associated systems.

The position is on the day shift, Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Candidates must be able to work overtime when required, including weekends. Starting pay is $20.90 per hour, with a stated summary pay range of $20.90 to $27.10.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to work overtime when required, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Induct, load, and unload piece parts.
• Maintain and add prescribed chemistry as required.
• Clean electrical contacts as required.
• Perform chemical dumps.
• Maintain tank levels and temperatures as required.
• Record daily pressure readings for hoods and scrubber mesh pads per EPA directives.
• Set up, use, and ensure proper calibration of precision measuring equipment, such as calipers and micrometers.
• Read and interpret blueprints to ensure quality products.
• Perform maintenance on the conveyor system, including the filter system, pumping system, hydraulic system, and tanks.
• Maintain spare parts and tooling inventory.
• Ensure proper makeup of tank chemistry.
• Adjust recipes to salvage undersized materials.
