Chrome Plater - 1st Shift
About The Position
Caterpillar is hiring a Chrome Plater to perform manufacturing and plating operations. The role involves handling piece parts, maintaining tank chemistry and equipment, recording environmental readings, using precision measuring equipment, and interpreting blueprints to ensure product quality. The position is on the day shift, Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The starting pay rate is $20.90 per hour, with a stated summary pay range of $20.90 to $27.10 per hour. Overtime may be available, and successful candidates must be able to work overtime when required, including weekends.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to work overtime when required, including weekends.
Responsibilities
- Induct, load, and unload piece parts.
- Maintain and add prescribed chemistry as required.
- Clean electrical contacts as required.
- Perform chemical dumps and maintain tank levels and temperatures as required.
- Record daily pressure readings for hoods and scrubber mesh pads in accordance with EPA directives.
- Set up, use, and ensure proper calibration of precision measuring equipment, such as calipers and micrometers.
- Read and interpret blueprints to ensure quality products.
- Perform maintenance on the conveyor system, including the filter system, pumping system, hydraulic system, and tanks.
- Maintain spare parts and tooling inventory.
- Ensure proper makeup of tank chemistry.
- Adjust recipes to salvage undersized materials.
