About The Position

The Georgia Department of Human Services’ Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) seeks a Child Support Services Agent 2 to establish and enforce child support obligations for responsible parents. The role coordinates child support activities with legal, judicial, and public organizations and communicates with clients and other constituents through telephone, email, correspondence, and direct contact. The agent manages a caseload to help ensure support obligations are met and performs other professional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor. DCSS works to enhance children’s well-being by locating non-custodial parents; establishing paternity and support orders; enforcing and modifying support obligations; and collecting and distributing child support payments. Its outreach programs include Fatherhood, Prison Re-Entry, and Parental Accountability Court, which aim to increase non-custodial parental involvement in children’s lives. This position is located in Atlanta, Georgia (Fulton County), and reports to the Child Support Services Agent Supervisor.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED and two years of direct job-related experience; or one year of experience as a Child Support Services Agent 1 (SST060) or in an equivalent position.

Responsibilities

Establish and enforce child support obligations of responsible parents.
Coordinate child support activities with legal, judicial, and public organizations.
Establish child support obligations and ensure that they are met.
Communicate with clients and other constituents by telephone, email, correspondence, and direct contact to ensure support obligations are met.
Manage a caseload to ensure child support obligations are met.
Perform other professional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
