About The Position

The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Child Support Services (DCSS), is seeking a Child Support Services Agent 2 in Valdosta, Georgia (Lowndes County). Under general supervision, the position establishes and enforces child support obligations of responsible parents and coordinates child support activities with legal, judicial, and public organizations. The role reports to a Child Support Services Agent Supervisor. DCSS promotes the well-being of children by locating non-custodial parents; establishing paternity and support orders; enforcing and modifying support obligations; and collecting and distributing child support payments. The program promotes parent accountability and self-sufficiency while reducing public responsibility for providing financial and medical support to children. DCSS also administers outreach programs, including Fatherhood, Prison Re-Entry, and Parental Accountability Court, which aim to increase non-custodial parental involvement in children's lives.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED and two years of direct job-related experience; or one year of experience as a Child Support Services Agent 1 (SST060) or in an equivalent position.
