Locum Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Job
About The Position
We are seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for an ongoing coverage need at a 471-bed facility that is a Level II trauma center. This inpatient position involves providing comprehensive anesthesia care to patients of all ages undergoing surgery. The role requires collaboration with surgeons and healthcare teams, monitoring patient vital signs, responding to emergencies, and maintaining accurate medical records. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical expertise, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This is an independent contractor (1099) role.
Requirements
- Active Virginia licensure
- Board certification
- AHA BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications
- Minimum 1-year CRNA experience or equivalent
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited CRNA program
- Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Virginia
- National certification as a CRNA by the National Board of Certification and Re-certification for Nurse Anesthetist (NBCRNA)
- At least one year of experience in a clinical anesthesia setting

Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgery, including preoperative assessment, intraoperative anesthesia management and postoperative pain management
- Collaborate with surgeons, surgical teams and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Monitor patient vital signs and adjust anesthetic plans as needed
- Respond to emergencies and provide critical care interventions
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records
- Stay current on the latest advancements in anesthesia practice through continuing education
