About The Position

We are seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for an ongoing coverage need at a hospital-based practice setting. The facility is an 180-bed facility and a Level III trauma center, equipped with 11 operating rooms. The services provided encompass a wide range of surgical specialties including Cardiovascular, Vascular, Neurological, General, ENT, Urology, Orthopedics, Robotic, Colo-Rectal, Podiatry, Plastics, Non-invasive Cardiology, OB, Endoscopy, and Radiology (CT/MRI). The patient population includes all ages, with a primary focus on Adult and Geriatric patients. This is a full-time coverage position, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The electronic medical record system used is EPIC. Credentialing typically takes 90-120 days, with temporary privileges available. This position is offered as an independent contractor (1099) role.

Requirements

• Active Michigan licensure
• Board certification
• AHA BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications
• Minimum 1-year CRNA experience or equivalent
• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited CRNA program
• Active and unencunbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Michigan
• National certification as a CRNA by the National Board of Certification and Re-certification for Nurse Anesthetist (NBCRNA)

Nice To Haves

• While specific requirements may vary, most locum CRNA positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical anesthesia setting

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgery, including preoperative assessment, intraoperative anesthesia management and postoperative pain management
• Collaborate with surgeons, surgical teams and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Monitor patient vital signs and adjust anesthetic plans as needed
• Respond to emergencies and provide critical care interventions
• Maintain accurate and complete medical records
• Stay current on the latest advancements in anesthesia practice through continuing education
