Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)/Shower Aide
About The Position
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)/Shower Aide provides a safe environment, emotional and social support, and assistance with residents’ physical needs and comfort in a skilled nursing facility. The role provides direct care according to each resident’s care plan and supervisor direction, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, grooming, and dressing. The employee also follows health, sanitation, and infection-control policies and the standards set by facility administration and Nursing Policies and Procedures, and performs other duties as directed by community representatives. The position is based at Autumn Care of Chesapeake in Chesapeake, Virginia. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available, with shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The wage is $21.00–$24.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Hold current Nursing Assistant certification in good standing in the applicable state registry, or otherwise meet state requirements to work as a Nursing Assistant.
- Have a high school diploma or GED, or be actively enrolled in a high school program.
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe environment and emotional and social support for residents.
- Attend to residents’ physical needs and comfort in a skilled nursing facility.
- Provide direct resident care according to care plans and supervisor direction.
- Assist residents with daily activities, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Follow health, sanitation, and infection-control policies and established facility and nursing standards.
- Perform other duties as directed by community representatives.
