About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)/Shower Aide provides direct care to residents in a skilled nursing facility, helping maintain a safe environment and supporting residents’ emotional, social, physical, and comfort needs. The aide follows each resident’s care plan and supervisor direction, assists with daily activities such as bathing, grooming, and dressing, and performs other duties as directed by community representatives. The role requires compliance with health, sanitary, and infection-control policies and established community and nursing standards of practice.

Requirements

• Hold a current nursing assistant certification registry in good standing under applicable state laws, or otherwise meet the state’s requirements to work as a nursing assistant.
• Have a high school diploma or GED, or be actively enrolled in a high school program.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment and emotional and social support to residents.
• Attend to residents’ physical needs and comfort in a skilled nursing facility.
• Perform direct care in accordance with each resident’s care plan and supervisor direction.
• Assist residents with daily activities, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Follow health, sanitary, and infection-control policies and established standards of practice.
• Perform other duties as directed by community representatives.
