Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)/Shower Aide
About The Position
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)/Shower Aide provides direct care to residents in a skilled nursing facility, following each resident’s care plan and supervisor direction. The role focuses on providing a safe environment, emotional and social support, and assistance with residents’ physical needs and comfort. Duties include helping residents with daily activities such as bathing, grooming, and dressing, and performing other tasks as directed by community representatives. The employee follows health, sanitary, and infection-control policies and the standards of practice established by the community’s administration and Nursing Policies and Procedures. This position is based at Autumn Care of Suffolk in Suffolk, Virginia. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available for shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The stated wage is $21.00–$24.00 per hour. Benefit program details may vary by facility.
Requirements
- Hold current nursing assistant certification in good standing on the applicable state registry, or otherwise meet the state’s requirements to work as a Nursing Assistant.
- Have a high school diploma or GED, or be actively enrolled in a high school program.
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe environment and emotional and social support to residents.
- Attend to residents’ physical needs and comfort in a skilled nursing facility.
- Perform direct care as assigned, in accordance with residents’ care plans and supervisor direction.
- Assist residents with daily activities, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Perform other duties as directed by community representatives.
- Follow health, sanitary, and infection-control policies and established standards of practice.
