About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant/Shower Aide provides a safe environment and emotional and social support while attending to residents’ physical needs and comfort in a skilled nursing facility. The role performs direct care according to each resident’s care plan and the supervisor’s direction, including helping residents with bathing, grooming, dressing, and other daily activities. The aide follows the community’s health, sanitation, and infection-control policies and established standards of practice, and performs other duties as directed by community representatives.

Requirements

• Hold current nursing assistant certification and be in good standing on the applicable state registry, or otherwise meet state requirements to work as a Nursing Assistant.
• Have a high school diploma or GED, or be actively enrolled in a high school program.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment and emotional and social support for residents.
• Attend to residents’ physical needs and comfort in a skilled nursing facility.
• Provide direct care as assigned, in accordance with residents’ care plans and the supervisor’s direction.
• Assist residents with daily activities, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Follow health, sanitary, and infection-control policies and established standards of practice.
• Perform other duties as directed by representatives of the community.
