Certified Nursing Aide (Day Shift) Long-Term Care
About The Position
Spanish Cove Retirement Village is hiring a Certified Nurse Aide for its Long-Term Care department. The role provides personal care and daily-living assistance to elderly residents and people recovering from surgery, injuries, or accidents. The schedule is 5:45 a.m. to 6:15 p.m., three days per week, on rotating weekdays and every other weekend. The listed pay rate is $16.50–$17.50. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, caregiver/CNA/HHA experience, or completion of a CNA program.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable daily transportation.
- Ability to lift, move, and transfer 100 pounds and perform frequent lifting and moving.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays.
- Availability to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends.
- Ability to act compassionately and supportively.
- Willingness to enforce health and safety standards.
- Interest in one-on-one care and willingness to improve and learn new skills.
- Pride in providing high-quality care.
Nice To Haves
- Hoyer lift experience, specified as client-specific.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal hygiene assistance, including showering, bathing, dressing, and eating.
- Help clients take prescribed medication and assist with ambulation.
- Assist with mobility around the home or outside, including doctor’s appointments and walks.
- Plan and prepare meals.
- Assist with physical therapy exercises.
- Complete clients’ shopping or accompany them while shopping.
- Perform housekeeping duties.
- Report unusual incidents and respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
- Assist patients with meals and related daily-living activities, including serving food and other tasks as needed.
