About The Position

Spanish Cove Retirement Village is hiring a Certified Nurse Aide for its Long-Term Care department. The role provides personal care and daily living assistance to elderly residents and people recovering from surgery, injury, or accidents. The available schedule is 5:45 p.m. to 6:15 a.m., three days per week, on rotating weekdays and every other weekend. The pay rate is $16.50–$17.50.

Requirements

Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Able to lift, move, and transfer 100 pounds and perform frequent lifting and moving.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every day.
Compassionate and supportive manner.
Willingness to enforce health and safety standards.
High school diploma or equivalent, caregiver, CNA, or HHA experience, or completion of a CNA program.
Take pride in providing high-quality care.
Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends.
Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting and be eager to improve and continuously learn new skills.

Hoyer lift experience (specific to client).

Responsibilities

Assist with personal hygiene and basic needs, including showering, bathing, dressing, and eating.
Help clients take prescribed medication and assist with ambulation.
Support mobility at home or outside, including accompanying clients to appointments and walks.
Plan and prepare meals.
Assist with physical therapy exercises.
Complete clients’ shopping or accompany them while shopping.
Perform housekeeping duties.
Report unusual incidents and respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
Assist patients with meals and other activities essential to daily living.
