About The Position
The Certified Nursing Assistant provides long-term care and skilled nursing support at St. Francis Place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The role assists with physician-ordered procedures under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, helps patients with personal care and activities of daily living, and supports patient transfers and transport. The assistant reports changes in patients’ physical, mental, or emotional conditions to nursing staff and helps maintain clean, orderly rooms. The role also promotes resident safety by identifying hazards and emergency situations and taking appropriate corrective action, while providing care tailored to the needs of assigned patients.
Requirements
- Nurse Aide certification obtained before the hire date or job transfer date is required.
Nice To Haves
- BLS Provider certification; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
- High school diploma or GED.
Responsibilities
- Assist with procedures ordered by a physician and supervised by a Registered Nurse.
- Assist patients with personal care, activities of daily living, transfers, and transport.
- Report findings or changes in patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
- Assist with keeping patient rooms clean and orderly.
- Promote resident safety by identifying safety hazards and emergency situations and initiating corrective action as appropriate.
- Facilitate time and individualized care for assigned patients to provide care appropriate to a specific population.
