About The Position

Spanish Cove Retirement Village is seeking a Certified Medication Aide for its Long-Term Care department. The role supports older adults and people recovering from surgery, injuries, or accidents with medication, personal care, mobility, meals, and other activities of daily living. The posting emphasizes compassionate, supportive care and working in a one-on-one setting.

The available shift is 5:45 a.m. to 6:15 p.m., with rotating days during the week and every other weekend. Pay is $17.50–$18.50, based on experience. The position requires weekend and holiday availability, frequent lifting and moving, and the ability to lift, move, and transfer 100 pounds.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a caregiver, CNA, or HHA, or completion of a CNA program.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
• Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends.
• Ability to lift, move, and transfer 100 pounds and perform all job-related duties; frequent lifting and moving are required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every day.
• Compassionate and supportive manner.
• Willingness to enforce health and safety standards.
• Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting and be eager to improve and continuously learn new skills.
• Take pride in providing high-quality care.

• Hoyer lift experience (specific to client).

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance, including help with showering, bathing, dressing, and eating.
• Help clients take prescribed medication and assist with ambulation.
• Assist with mobility at home and outside, including attending appointments and walks.
• Plan and prepare meals.
• Assist with physical therapy exercises.
• Complete clients’ shopping or accompany them while shopping.
• Perform housekeeping duties.
• Report unusual incidents and respond quickly and responsibly to emergencies.
• Assist patients with meals and other tasks that support daily living.
