About The Position

The Central Supply employee verifies the daily census and prepares and distributes supplies according to facility needs. The role monitors inventory and supplies maintained at nurses’ stations and supply points, keeps the work area safe and orderly, and assists administrative and nursing staff as assigned. The position requires dependable attendance, a professional appearance, and cooperative interaction with residents, their representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants, and ancillary service providers. The employee must protect residents’ protected health information, follow facility computer-security procedures, and immediately report suspected resident abuse to the Administrator.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Verify census daily and prepare and distribute supplies to fit the needs of the facility.
• Monitor inventory and stock supplies maintained at nurses’ stations and supply points; distribute appropriate supplies.
• Maintain a safe and orderly work area.
• Assist administrative and nursing staff as assigned.
• Report to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality.
• Wear neat attire and consistently present an appropriate professional appearance.
• Work cooperatively with residents, representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants, and ancillary service providers.
• Protect residents’ protected health information (PHI) and promptly report suspected or known disclosure violations to the Administrator.
• Ensure unattended department computer workstations are logged off or that password-protected screensavers activate in accordance with facility policy.
• Immediately report suspected resident abuse to the Administrator.
