About The Position

Scheurer Primary Care-Harbor Beach, part of Scheurer Health, is hiring a full-time Central Scheduler. The position is listed as 72 hours per pay period and offers full benefits. The Central Scheduler registers inpatient, swing bed, and observation patients; schedules outpatient department visits; and provides patients with necessary preparation instructions. The role also includes collecting payments at registration, maintaining error-free accounts to Michigan standards, and supporting reception or registration duties as needed. Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

Obtain signatures on Conditions of Admissions.
Initiate Advance Directives when applicable.
Ensure documentation meets current mandated standards, policies, and procedures.
Register inpatient, swing bed, and observation patients.
Schedule outpatient department visits and educate patients on necessary preparation instructions.
Submit data for Consumer Products.
Work as a receptionist or registrar if needed.
Work different shifts as needed.
Collect payments at the time of registration and maintain accounts that meet the Michigan standard of error-free accounts.
Abide by Scheurer Health Behavioral Standards.
