About The Position

The Central Fill Non-Dispensing Lead Technician guides and directs associates to help ensure daily accuracy, safety, quality, and regulatory standards are met. The role demonstrates the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. The Lead Technician trains and mentors pharmacy technicians and associates, supports department processes and continuous improvement, and helps coordinate daily work with shift supervisors. The position also performs technician tasks on the production floor as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Maintain current national and/or state registration, certification, or licensure depending on state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example and delegate as needed to ensure department standards are followed.
• Encourage, monitor, and assist new technicians through the technician training program.
• Provide day-to-day training and support to new-hire technicians and pharmacy associates.
• Maintain current national and/or state registration, certification, or licensure as required by the state.
• Identify training opportunities and coordinate on-the-job and cross-training with supervisors.
• Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the department.
• Participate in team meetings; relay shift issues and concerns to management, participate in issue resolution, and communicate management information back to the team.
• Assist the shift supervisor in developing and complying with standard operating procedures and ensure associates comply with them.
• Complete technician tasks on the production floor as needed.
• Guide associates and ensure established procedures, policies, and practices are followed.
• Serve as a subject matter expert, recognize areas of opportunity, and coach associates toward correct practices as appropriate.
• Collaborate with shift supervisors to determine daily tasks and direct associates accordingly.
• Perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
