About The Position

Our Tampa pharmacy is seeking a reliable and attentive Pharmacy Technician. The primary focus of this role is hands-on dispensing, counting, and packaging operations to ensure accurate prescription fulfillment. Experience with prescription data entry and insurance claim billing is a strong plus to support workflow as needed.

The technician works under pharmacist supervision to measure, count, bottle, and package oral medications and unit-dose pharmaceuticals; prepare and apply prescription labels, auxiliary warning tags, and safety packaging; maintain clean and compliant work areas; and assist with inventory control. The role may also support prescription data entry and basic insurance claim adjudication or billing troubleshooting when operational needs arise.

Requirements

• Active Florida Pharmacy Technician Registration (RPhT) is required.
• Previous experience in medication counting, packaging, and dispensing operations.
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and mathematical accuracy.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work effectively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• PTCB or ExCPT certification is preferred.
• Familiarity with prescription data entry, insurance claim billing, or long-term care (LTC) operations is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Accurately measure, count, bottle, and package oral medications and unit-dose pharmaceuticals under pharmacist supervision.
• Generate and affix accurate prescription labels, auxiliary warning tags, and safety packaging for outgoing orders.
• Maintain clean, compliant work zones; sanitize counting equipment; and organize stock shelves according to pharmacy standards.
• Pull stock items for filling, restock workstations, track expiration dates, and monitor inventory levels.
• Assist with prescription data entry and basic insurance claim adjudication or billing troubleshooting as operational needs arise.
