Cemetery Groundskeeper
About The Position
The Cemetery Groundskeeper at Everstory Partners is responsible for caring for, maintaining, and repairing cemetery property and supporting the safety and security of employees and visitors. The role requires attention to detail, reliability, hard work, and a commitment to providing a high level of customer service. Duties include landscape maintenance, equipment upkeep, funeral service support, safe machinery operation, cemetery vault and memorial installation, general maintenance, and snow removal when applicable. The position reports to the Grounds Superintendent for assigned duties.
Requirements
- High school equivalency required.
- At least 2 years of experience in maintenance or a related field.
- Ability to operate maintenance equipment and machinery.
- Ability to read and execute memos and directives from a supervisor or management.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks with interruptions.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
- Availability to work some holidays, evenings, and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance, including weed-whacking and lawn mowing.
- Maintain equipment.
- Perform functions related to funeral services.
- Operate machinery safely and appropriately.
- Install or assist in installing cemetery vaults.
- Install headstones or memorials as needed.
- Handle day-to-day general maintenance duties.
- Perform snow removal when applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Grounds Superintendent.
