Cemetery Groundskeeper
About The Position
The Cemetery Groundskeeper at Everstory Partners is responsible for the care, maintenance, and repair of cemetery property, as well as supporting the safety and security of employees and visitors. The role requires a dedicated, reliable, hardworking person who pays attention to detail and provides a high level of customer service. Duties include landscape maintenance, equipment upkeep, funeral-service functions, safe operation of machinery, cemetery vault and memorial installation, general maintenance, and snow removal where applicable. The Groundskeeper also performs other duties assigned by the Grounds Superintendent.
Requirements
- High school equivalency required.
- At least 2 years of experience in maintenance or a related field.
- Ability to operate maintenance equipment and machinery.
- Ability to read and execute memos and directives from a supervisor or management.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks with interruptions.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
- Must be available to work some holidays, evenings, and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance duties, including weed-whacking and lawn mowing.
- Maintain equipment.
- Perform functions related to funeral services.
- Operate machinery safely and appropriately.
- Install or assist in installing cemetery vaults.
- Install headstones or memorials as needed.
- Handle day-to-day general maintenance duties.
- Remove snow when applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Grounds Superintendent.
- Support the care, maintenance, and repair of the property and the safety and security of employees and visitors.
