Cemetery Groundskeeper
About The Position
The Cemetery Groundskeeper at Everstory Partners is responsible for caring for, maintaining, and repairing cemetery property while helping ensure the safety and security of employees and visitors. The role requires a dedicated, reliable, hard-working person with attention to detail and a commitment to providing customers with a high level of service. Duties include landscape maintenance, equipment upkeep, funeral-service-related functions, safe machinery operation, cemetery vault and memorial installation, general maintenance, and snow removal where applicable. The Groundskeeper also performs other duties assigned by the Grounds Superintendent.
Requirements
- High school equivalency required.
- At least 2 years of experience in maintenance or a related field.
- Ability to operate maintenance equipment and machinery.
- Ability to read and execute memos and directives from a supervisor or management.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks with interruptions.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
- Valid state driver’s license required.
- Availability to work some holidays, evenings, and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance, including weed-whacking and lawn mowing.
- Maintain equipment.
- Perform functions related to funeral services.
- Operate machinery safely and appropriately.
- Install or assist with installing cemetery vaults.
- Install headstones or memorials as needed.
- Perform day-to-day general maintenance duties.
- Remove snow, if applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Grounds Superintendent.
- Help care for, maintain, and repair the property and support the safety and security of employees and visitors.
