Entry Level CDL A Truck Driver - Paid Training
About The Position
This is an entry-level position for CDL-A truck drivers who have their CDL but lack driving experience. Abilene offers a training program with a refrigerated fleet operating out of the Dallas area. Trainees will ride with experienced driver trainers on real loads and be paid weekly during training. Upon completion of training, drivers will move into their own truck with full pay. The position involves refrigerated freight on main lanes from Texas to Tennessee, Illinois, and Georgia, with an average of 1,800 to 2,000 miles per week. Drivers can expect to be home every two weeks. The job includes drop and hook, as well as live loads and unloads.
Requirements
- Class A CDL.
- At least 21 years of age.
- No more than 2 moving violations in the past 2 years.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Live within 200 miles of Lancaster, TX.
- For entry-level: 120+ hours from an accredited CDL school.
- For experienced drivers: 12 months of verifiable tractor-trailer experience.
Responsibilities
- Train with an experienced driver trainer on real loads.
- Drive a refrigerated truck on main lanes from Texas to Tennessee, Illinois, and Georgia.
- Complete approximately 1,800 to 2,000 miles per week.
- Perform drop and hook, live loads, and unloads.
- Maintain a safe driving record.
