Entry Level CDL-A Driver – Paid One on One Training
About The Position
NIS Express is seeking CDL-A Drivers in Orangeburg, SC, for regional dry van freight east of I-35. This position offers 100% no-touch freight with approximately 70% drop and hook loads. Drivers will operate 2024-2025 Freightliner or Kenworth tractors equipped with APUs. The role provides paid, one-on-one training for recent CDL school graduates, covering Class A tractor-trailer operation, safety standards, ELD compliance, pre and post-trip inspections, and dispatch communication. Training lasts three to five weeks with a dedicated trainer, and drivers will run actual freight and earn pay from day one. After supervised miles and evaluations, drivers will go solo.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- 21 years of age or older
- 120 or more hours from an accredited CDL school
- Clean driving record
- Must pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen
Responsibilities
- Operate a Class A tractor-trailer
- Adhere to safety standards
- Comply with ELD and hours-of-service logging regulations
- Perform pre and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Communicate effectively with dispatch
- Follow company procedures
- Transport regional dry van freight east of I-35
- Handle 100% no-touch freight
- Perform drop and hook operations for approximately 70% of loads
